2015 Lightning League - Youth Track and Field

The Lightning League provides youth athletes with access to first-class track and field experiences. The league is open to recreational athletes, competitive summer track athletes, and their respective teams. This league allows track and field programs to participate in a safe, competitive environment that is managed by a qualified meet management team. Coaches are free to instruct their athletes during the competition and don't have to concern themselves with the meet management process. The league offers professional announcing and fully automatic timing services with results posted after each race. The league offers athletes and teams several packages for individual or multi-meet registration. If you are an unattached athlete, park and recreation or summer track team and would like to learn more about participating in this league, please click on "Contact" on the top of the page.

Meet Management Staff:

The Lightning League is managed by a core team of USATF certified coaches and officials. This nucleus has trained an entire meet management staff that is trained to provide a great meet experience for all competitors. All meet management personnel are compensated for their services. Meet management staff will include roughly 30 people. These people will serve in a variety of roles such as: assistant clerk of course, marshall, assistant bullpen coordinator, hipping clerk, results runners, water table, awards tent, finish line coordinator, field event officials, data entry, starter and back-up starter, etc. The meet management staff completes a mandatory professional development training course each February to prepare for their meet management responsibilities. If you are interested in joining our meet management staff, cplease click on "Contact" on the top of the page.

Full service concessions are available at every meet. Italian Ice vendors will also be onsite (weather permitting).

The Lightning League will run events that support the Georgia Parks and Recreation format. Athletes can compete in 3 individual events (2 track, 1 field; 2 field, 1 track; or 3 field events) and 2 relays. Generally speaking, the league will enforce Georgia Parks and Recreation rules and procedures; however, there may be some deviation from this structure.
